Researchers

The team coordinates the UNESCO Chair "Information and Communication Technology in Education", chaired by Prof. Dr. Rosa Vicari (Unitwin Id 2012BR0975). We were part of the ORBICOM.

🏆 In 2025, the research group was awarded the UNESCO Prize for the Use of Information and Communication Technology (UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize).

Holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Coimbra. Full Professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. UNESCO Consultant at the Ministry of Education. Works in the field of Computing, mainly in the following areas: multi-agent systems, intelligent tutoring systems, computing in education, and distance education. Holds a PhD in Computing in Education from UFRGS. Postdoctoral researcher in Artificial Intelligence in Basic Education. Works in the field of Computing. He is a professor at the Federal Institute Farroupilha (IFFAR). UNESCO Consultant at the Ministry of Education. He is co-author of the “Reference Curriculum in Technology and Computing” from CIEB and developer and validator of the standard “Computing – Complement to BNCC”.

He holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, a master's degree in Applied Computing, and a PhD in Informatics in Education. He is a professor at the Federal Institute of Sul-rio-grandense (IFSUL). He works in the areas of technology in teaching, educational robotics, and teacher training.
